They allow you to take a snapshot of your entire drive, system files and all. Choose your keyboard layout when asked, and then select the "Restore your computer using a system image that you created earlier" option in the System Recovery Options window. When your PC's hard drive eventually dies, you can replace its dead hard drive with a new drive, reinstall your System Image, and you'll be back up and running fairly quickly. When you dump the image on the new build, it will go through the initial setup like a clean Windows setup but with all your programs and files still there.
