The biggest thing about this setup that requires Windows is me. Check This Out I no longer have to reboot the NUC (model DC53427HYE) to get sound to come back, but I do have to right click the speaker icon in the notification area (lower This is the first time I ever had to change the default just to use this TV. However, my laptop shows the Sony TV in my audio devices. It seems like it has to be something inside of windows itself, not drivers pertaining to the on board sound card or motherboard (which are actually all up to date anyways). I mean, most of the time, yes, my receiver is still recognized and I don't have to reboot my NUC to get sound. I tested the HDMI cable, and it's good.
My PC outputs to the amplifier via HDMI on my graphic card (Radeon HD 6700).
