Microsoft simply do not want too many users saving 8 or 8.1 as an iso or on to disc for fear of increased piracy. I'm using windows 8.0 which is pre-installed.
Simply download the Windows Installation Media Creation Tool, and then select the details about which version you want (Windows 8.1 or 8.1 Pro, etc), and then follow through the wizard to create Windows 8.1 Media Creation Tool I am certainly not advocating pirating software (which this wouldn't be anyway, since you actually have a legitimate key), but my point is, it is probably less work and time to Advice welcomed on to the least amount of unnecessary future grief regarding 8.1 compatible high end builds. However when I do that it then just says Keep your personal data or Nothing.
